Graffiti for the soul

There is something in the steet art that got the attention of the passerby and that is the great creativity of drawing about a statement. In the previous articles it shows 4 differents countries in Latin American as Honduras, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil where some street artist intend to promote a protest in a healthy way. There is example of Honduran artist Urban Maeztro takes a critical opinion about the violence in his country and it show is point of view in a paciffic way to generate awareness among population. In Brazil and Argentina it is also by a very artistic way a critic about the government and their abuses not only in the society but also in the enviroment by contributing in the global warming. In the Colombian streets artist, they found a whole cause to fight for in a healthy way and they criticize the corruption inside the country and the violence which is one of the things that the artist reflect in their art work, the fear of all those things. In despite the prohibition of the graffities in almost all countries, people should start to promote social change in such a pacific way as the graffities are, because this would be a great benefit for the next generations.

Bangkok's "Mexican" Ganster

In the reading "Bangkok's Mexican Ganster" people can learn about a whole different perspective about some culture which try to adopt some characteristics about another kind of culture, in this case we have the Thais and their love for some mexican things. If you haven't read the article and you see the picture of the Thais, probably you'll think that is about some guetto culture and probably also you'll think about if it is dangerous or  something like that. Well IS NOT like that, Thais are men of family, whom doesn't like violence and consider the rest of their community likely as a brotherhood. People tend to think the worst many time and just because the looks of something, but the real thing is that many of this thoughts are sterotypes which are wrong concepts about a community. That's why people shouldn't judge at first impression about something or in this context someone, mostly of the time the information about many cultures are completely false, because of this, people need to learn mote about the different kinds of culture.

Afro-Colombians Racism

Colombia is a country that have many communities in it, like indigenous, african descent, arabs descents, etc. But in the country there is also some intolerance and discrimination against some of this communities. African Descent in Colombia often is clasified as people who doesn't have any education and that problematic because maybe this is the reason about the low rate of employment among them. Even with the investigations  centers, Colombians still need to get to know the real situation around the country, because many of this rascism is because people doesn't understand the real problems in our society.

OH, HI THERE!

Oh, hello, my name is Carolina and I’m 21 years old. while I study in the Universidad Del Norte Mass media and Journalism, also am doing this blog which is going to talk about culture and maybe other perspectives about life, and also all these will be discussed with my peers. Well, let’s start, I understand culture, as a integration of some concepts as religion, costume, lenguage, social habits and music. All those concepts bring together some kind of misterious that many of us wants to discover as the time goes by. In this new kind of social exchange of intercultural communication, I personally want to dig a little more about another life style, so I can get to know about some differences and similarities with people who are not from Colombia.
